Empowering Students Beyond the School Day
Every Counseling in Schools program is grounded in the belief that supporting students academically, creatively, and emotionally empowers them to thrive both in school and beyond. Our inclusive programs create safe, engaging, and supportive environments where all students can participate and succeed, led by experienced educators, social workers, and creative arts therapists. Through structured activities that strengthen social emotional learning and offer access to counseling and mental health supports, CIS staff mentor students to become confident, compassionate leaders. A wide variety of clubs and enrichment opportunities spark curiosity, foster creativity, and build meaningful connections, promoting academic growth, wellness, and community engagement.
Recreational, Cultural, and Leadership Activities
Students explore their passions and identities through a diverse range of hands-on and expressive opportunities, including academic enrichment, anime, art, book club, chess, cheer, crochet, dance, debate, fashion design, film, multicultural and multilingual club, music production, My Brother’s Keeper, My Sister’s Keeper, photography, sports, student government, theatre and more.
These experiences help students build teamwork, confidence, and self-expression while fostering leadership, inclusion, and community engagement.
STEM & Innovation
Our STEM programming invites students to imagine, design, and problem-solve through innovation and collaboration. Students participate in architecture, drone technology, electrical engineering, game design, robotics, music production, science experiments, sustainability, and other exploratory projects that build critical thinking, creativity, and perseverance.
Community Engagement & Service Learning
CIS connects learning to life through field trips, service-learning projects, and collaborations with local organizations. Students engage with real community issues, developing empathy, civic awareness, and leadership skills.
We proudly partner with schools and community organizations across New York City to ensure that every student and family has access to meaningful enrichment opportunities and holistic support.
