Alexa Rodriguez, LCSW received her BA in Psychology from St. Francis College in 1997 and her MSW degree from Hunter School of Social Work in 2004 with a specialization in case work and a concentration in children and families. Prior to obtaining her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Social Work, her primary focus was working with perpetrators of sexual abuse (ages 18-70) on probation or parole. She specialized in working with victims of sexual abuse (ages 4-70).
Alexa has 21 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She has worked in various settings from criminal justice, probation and parole, foster case, aftercare, mental health, PINS Diversion (Persons in Need of Supervision), and school-based systems providing therapy in both English and Spanish. She has also provided clinical services, staff trainings, clinical supervision, and consultation services to outside agencies and private clinicians.
Alexa joined Counseling In Schools in 2011 as a licensed counselor in a middle school. She then moved on to work as a counselor and site coordinator in a high school. Alexa was promoted to the position of Clinical Director in 2013.
