Deyna Tagle’s journey embodies the spirit of a Rose that Grew Out of Concrete, inspired by Tupac Shakur. Her ascent to Success Mentor at Atech High School began in 2021, during a global pandemic filled with challenges, unrest, and deep family stress. In this difficult time, Deyna rose to the occasion, working alongside school leaders when others hesitated, warmly greeting and comforting students during arrivals, dismissals, and lunch periods as Atech faced unprecedented absenteeism and losses.
Today, Atech High School shines with one of the lowest chronic absenteeism rates in the city, underscoring Deyna’s pivotal role, alongside other mentors, in helping CIS secure a two-year grant to expand their Success Mentoring programming model.
Her unwavering support for both colleagues and students has made her an invaluable member of the team.
